Location
Forum, at Doktor Fries Torg 7. This is our main venue and the home of West Coast Jitterbugs. All parties and most classes will be at Forum.
At Forum, there are hangout areas and a fully functioning kitchen where you can heat your food or fill your water bottle. Forum does not have changing rooms or showers.
What to bring
We recommend bringing a water bottle, dance shoes, or other indoor shoes, preferably with soles that allow sliding on the floor to spare your knees. Other things that might come handy are a spare t-shirt if you get sweaty, and some chewing gum to prevent bad breath.
Food and Alcohol
Near Forum and Landala sports center there are grocery stores and a few restaurants. At Forum there will be a few microwave ovens you can use to heat up your lunch. Snacks will be served during the party nights. There will be late night food on the Saturday at Forum. On Sunday’s social dancing, we will offer a fika buffé. If you want to contribute by baking cake, please reach out to thedans@wcj.se.
This festival will not have a bar. You are allowed to bring your alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage to the party nights. If you chose to drink alcohol at this even, we ask you to drink responsibly and to not get drunk. You should also be aware that in Sweden you can only buy alcohol in Systembolaget and not in any grocery stores.
Accommodation
Gothenburg has a lot of different alternatives for accommodation in different price ranges.
Be Hosted by a Local
In your sign up form you have the option to check if you would like to be hosted by a local dancer or if you are a local dancer willing to host.
Our association West Coast Jitterbugs has also created a Facebook group for matching traveling dancers to local hosts. Please join the group to either offer, or search for accommodation.
Public transport
Public transport
Gothenburg has a regional transport service called
Västtrafik, and their website (www.vasttrafik.se) provides
information on ticket costs and timetables.
The nearest tram stop to Forum is Doktor Fries torg. It is also a less than ten minutes walk from the stop Wavrinskys plats.
We recommend using the app Västtrafik To-Go to:
– find live transportation data for route planning
– purchase tickets with card payment

trams and buses.
